In a Peanuts State of Mind...

I love, love, *LOVE* Charles Schutz's PEANUTS. I learned to read from those strips, and spent many a drunken night playing pool on the site of Charlie Brown's dad's barbershop.

Later, my life's rhythms danced to the music of Frank Miller and Charles Bukowski, among others...

So of course, I was delighted to see Peanuts, in a Sin City sort of way:

(Click for big'uns!)

And Peanuts if it was written by Charles Bukowski!

Come to think of it, that one strip recounts a conversation I've had with more than a few people...

Enjoy!

You always want Charlie Brown to win. But he never can.

"And Linus? You're going with me." That's great.

Never really liked Charlie Brown. I absolutely hated the cartoons on TV. I think it had something to do with the Great Pumpkin being poo-pooed as a nonentity. Poor Linus.

Charlie Brown as strained through Tarantino - maybe!

*LOL @ Charlie by Bukowski!* Thanks for sharing. I liked Peanuts much more as a child than I tend to now. Not sure why.

Re the Milleresque Charlie Brown, I'm of divided mind: On one hand, I'm glad for Charlie to cease being such a wienie and grow some cojones. On the other hand, is this Charlie on his way to becoming one of those berserk shoot-em-all-to-get-revenge killers? Hmmm.
