The thing with that Conan "quote" is that I don't recall that being penned by Robert E. Howard. It's from the first Conan movie, and may have been a quote from one of the Conan yarns by L.Sprague DeCamp. It reads more like something DeCamp would have written, rather than Howard. But it's been so long since I've read that stuff that I can't recall.
