Blinking in the Light

...like the blind baby mole rat I've been. Amazon brought me Andrew Vachss's newest, and yesterday was sort of a blur.

Dude writes some fast-paced fiction. At a book signing once, he said his writing method is to jot down thoughts as they come to him on 3x5 cards and stick them in a box. When the box gets a certain amount of full, he's got a book.

As many methods as there are writers, I suppose...

The point about the cards in the box gave me a good grin. It also got me thinking about developing my own method. I'm going to start stuffing notes in beer cans as I finish them, then toss the cans in a big garbage bag, and by the time I've filled the bag I'll have a book.

Funny, Charles.

Steve, I wonder if Jim Butcher used that method, too, in his first books?
